Servas: Servas is a worldwide cooperative cultural exchange network of travelers and hosts working together to foster peace, goodwill and mutual respect.
Redwood Jazz Alliance brings amazing jazz musicians to our area. Tickets for seniors are $10, and you can trust us on this one: you can't find a better deal for hearing top-notch jazz. Plus, it is right here in our own community. If you'd like to be become a member (it's tax deductible!), you can do so for $40/year to help sustain the Redwood Jazz Alliance and the beautiful music they bring to Humboldt County.
See a marvelous production at the Humboldt Light Opera! They are presenting Mary Poppins July 31st through August 16th at HSU's Van Duzer Theatre. Tickets are $13 to $19 with a $1 discount for seniors over 62 and students/children under 18.
The Humboldt Ukulele Group meets three times a month. You don't need to have experience in playing a ukulele so just show up and enjoy the fun. The time is 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the 1st Tuesday, 2nd Monday, and 3rd Thursday of every month at the Arcata Community Center in the Arts and Crafts Room. If you would like more information, contact DeAnna at 707-499-7244 who always has a spare ukulele for newcomes.
